The Time We "Vandalized" Cadillac Ranch

A few years ago when we were planning a road trip to Las Vegas, NV we stumbled upon a site to see in Amarillo, TX.

Cadillac Ranch is really not much of a Ranch. Rather, it is a public art sculpture that is located in Texas. No matter the time of year, you are likely to see many tourists at Cadillac Ranch ready to vandalize the cars. Fortunately, if you do not readily carry around spray paint there are plenty of Home Depots and Lowes in the area.

Parking for the attraction occurs on the side of the road. There is no admissions fee, really it only costs you what you will spend on your own can of spray paint. While the area around is filled with endless empty spray cans, the art sculpture is one to really take in and most importantly have fun vandalizing!

It's hard to believe that these cars, rather this sculpture has been attracting visitors since 1974. The artists wanted the cars to represent the evolution of the Cadillac car line from 1949 to 1963. Now while this location does not have posted history or information on the art sculpture, there are a few things you can be sure of.

First, a strong spray paint smell. Second, an awe at how many other travelers have pulled over and spray painted the heck out of these cars!
